Pianiste Nadejda Vlaeva: “She plays the way a bird sings”, roemde de wereldberoemde concertpianist Lazar Berman haar spel. Hij prijst de diepte van haar interpretatie en haar krachtige en natuurlijke techniek. Een greep: pianiste van wereldklasse, indrukwekkende techniek en helderheid; grote diepgang in haar interpretatie; een buitengewoon begaafde pianiste met een sterk artistiek temperament, muzikale expressie en innerlijk charisma.
Nadejda Vlaeva werd geboren in Sofia in Bulgarije en begon op haar vijfde met pianolessen. Ze studeerde bij Antoanetta Arsova en daarna aan de Sofia Academy of Music bij Anton Dikov. Na haar afstuderen verhuisde ze naar Amsterdam waar ze aan het Sweelinck Conservatorium verder ging studeren bij de befaamde Jan Wijn. Tussendoor volgde ze ook masterclasses bij Lazar Berman, György Sebök en György Sándor. Zij vertrok vervolgens naar New York om haar spel te vervolmaken bij concertpianiste Ruth Laredo. Ze gaf solorecitals in Bulgarije, Hongarije, Slowakije, Rusland, Canada, de Verenigde Staten, Engeland en Nederland. Ze was soliste met het Budapest Symphony Orchestra, het Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, de Capella Istropolitana en diverse orkesten in Nederland en Bulgarije. Onder de vele grote prijzen die zij won waren de Eerste Prijs en Gold medal van het Liszt Concours in Lucca in Italië, de derde prijs van het prestigieuze Internationale Franz Liszt Concours in Budapest en de Yamaha Award voor de beste interpretatie van Brahms in Weimar. Haar eerste cd Chopin Works for Piano and Orchestra werd internationaal met veel lovende recensies ontvangen. Vlaeva’s tweede cd Pianoworks by Liszt ontving de Internationale Grand Prix “Liszt” de Disque in 2002. Groten als de pianisten Pollini, Brendel, Kocsis, Cziffra en de dirigenten Solti en Bernstein gingen haar daarin voor. In 2000 debuteerde zij al in New York in de Carnegie Weill Recital Hall. Verder verscheen van Vlaeva de cd The Piano van de componist Dimiter Christoff, volume 2. Haar vierde cd met prachtige werken van Russische componisten, waaronder van Sergei Bortkiewics (door wie Rachmaninov zich liet inspireren) is onlangs verschenen.
Vlaeva beheerst een breed en indrukwekkend repertoire: met haar Liszt vertolkingen won ze vele grote prijzen; ze staat hiermee op een zeer hoog niveau. Verder speelt ze vele werken van Haydn, Mozart en Beethoven, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schubert en Schumann, Brahms, Grieg en sinds kort ook van Russische componisten.
Zowel in de VS als in Europa heeft zij als soliste een druk concertprogramma. In okt./nov. 2007 was zij in Nederland in het kader van de Kunsttiendaagse in Bergen, georganiseerd door het International Holland Music Sessions en tijdens de landelijke Klassieke Muziekweek in Castricum in november, georganiseerd door Stichting Iskra. Verder was zij te beluisteren tijdens het Radio 4 programma AVRO’s Spiegelzaal live vanuit het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam van presentator Hans van den Boom. Daarnaast waren er diverse andere concerten in Nederland.
In Nederland wordt zij voor haar concertmanagement exclusief vertegenwoordigd door Jupiter 4 Artists.
